George Ashford was born March 13, 1980, in Lewisville, Oregon. He lived in the North Santiam area, Marion, and Jefferson before moving to Albany in 1929.
A farmer, George had retired as a watchman at the old M&M Plywood Mill. He was a Member of the Albany Church of God.
Nora Elizabeth Jarvis: 1895-1967
Nora was one of 7 children born to Daniel Loomis Jarvis and Effie Emily McCannon Jarvis. She was born in the North Santiam area near Stayton and lived all her life in Oregon, the last 40 years in the Albany area. She married George Butcher Ashford in 1913. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1963. Nora was a member of the First Church of God, Albany.
She had 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
One son Lyle Wesley Ashford died in 1922. He is buried with her at this cemetery. Nora’s parents Daniel Jarvis and Effie Jarvis are also buried in Lone Oak Cemetery in Sec. 2, Lot 34. Her family remaining also included a brother Clifford Jarvis and two sisters, the Rev. Mary West and Mrs. Edith Bradley.
